May Trends at YHS..
The new iMovie app for the iPad is now on the English iPad cart at YHS. Rachel Tinervin's classes are using the app to create book trailers...it allows students to create HD movies from anywhere, save via Webdav to our network server, upload and share to social media or via email and present. A great way to include dynamic digital storytelling in your classroom.
Sue Simoneau's two Finite Math classes have started collecting data for their survey projects. There are 7 groups and at least 5 of them are using the iPads and digital surveys created in Google Docs to collect data.
The seven groups go from TEAM to TEAM collecting information from individual students on the iPads..this is a great update to a the traditional paper survey since students are administering the survey themselves. The data then becomes live and immediately accessible to those in the group to see, manipulate, analyze, and disseminate.
Survey topics are
Are we using Interactive white boards effectively?
How well do our students understand the college application process?
Should we pursue a BYOD technology plan?
Where do we go with our Code of Conduct? not to be confused with eligibility
What to do with our Dress Code? Change it, Enforce it etc?
Is YHS too secure or not secure enough?
What can we do to encourage better nutrition among our students?
